Köln / Cologne Y We lived in Cologne and this was our starting point. The main attraction is the Roman Catholic Dom which dominates the city and the surrounding area. When you arrive in Cologne you can not miss it.   9
Munich N This is where  most Americans envision when they think of Germany.  Munich is famous for its beer and "Bier Hallen", a fun place to visit if you like to drink.  The main attractions are the Deutsches Museum, and Englischer Garten.  The Bavarian Alps are visibale and the Chiemsee is within an hour drive of the city.  9

Feeling and Opinions on Germany

We lived there, so an opinion as traveler would not be appropriate.  German offers a lot from historical sites to hiking and skiing in the Bavarian Alps.
