Main things to See (we give descriptions only on places we visited)

Things to See  Visited Brief Description Recommend (10 is best 1 is don't bother)
Zanzibar Y Beautiful island in the Indian ocean with dream beaches.  It is not cheap,  but you can stay under 25 US$ a day fairly easily if you do not have an expensive taste.  Spice tours are popular and a lot of fun.  Other activities are scuba diving, snorkeling, dolphin tours, renting motorbike, bicycling,  8
Dar es Salaam Y Dar es Salam is only not by name, the Tanzanian Capital.  Here is where you fly to if you fly into Tanzania.  The town also is where you catch the ferry to Zanzibar.  The city has a lot of internet cafes. In its own right not much to do there.  5
Lake Victoria Y Beautiful huge lake bordering Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.  Well worth a visit. 7
Serengeti National Park N/Y Kirk visited 3 years ago.  It is a huge game park that has about every East African animals species within it's boundaries.  It is beautiful and well worth visiting. One can book Safaris in Arusha.   You can camp or stay in some beautiful lodges. 9
Ngorongoro Conservation Area N/Y Kirk visited 3 years ago.  Beautiful volcanic crater that is absolutely full of animals.  You have a good possibility of seeing the big 5 here. 9
Arusha N/Y Kirk visited Arusha 3 years ago. Here you can book safaris and climbs to Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru.  Also Arusha has its own National Park Reserve. 7
Mt Kilimanjaro National Park N/Y Kirk climbed Kilimanjaro 3 years ago.  It is a great moutain to climb and has a lot to offer though it is expensive to climb. For a 5 day hike it will probably cost 550 US$ at least. 9

Feeling and Opinions on Tanzania

Tanzania has a lot to offer.  It has the highest mountain in Africa,  some of the most beautiful game parks in Africa,  and some of the nicest beaches in Zanzibar.  One can easily stay 3 months here without seeing and doing everything.  Just make sure you bring enough US$ in cash with you, preferably in large bills.
